PCP Leads National Engagement for the World Giving Index 2025 |
|
|
 |
As part of
its partnership with the Charities Aid Foundation (CAF), the Pakistan Centre for
Philanthropy (PCP) actively contributed to the Charities Landscape Survey for
the upcoming World Giving Index 2025. PCP worked closely with CAF to review and
refine the Urdu translation of the survey.
PCP also played a key role in shaping the Country Report for Pakistan by
reviewing the preliminary data and drafting detailed feedback to guide its
refinement. PCP disseminated the survey to over 900 nonprofit organizations
across the country. Regular progress updates were shared with CAF, reflecting
PCP's strong commitment to data quality, stakeholder inclusion, and
collaborative impact. |
PCP and PPAF Join Forces to Strengthen Civil Society Institutions |
A significant
partnership was formalized as PCP signed a five-year Memorandum of Understanding
(MoU) with Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund (PPAF) to strengthen institutional
capacity across civil society organizations.
This collaboration will focus on governance, accountability, and performance
enhancement through organizational assessments and capacity-building trainings. |
Newly Certified NPOs on
Getting PCP's "Seal of Good Housekeeping" |
As the sole
certification agency for nonprofits in Pakistan, approved by the Federal Board
of Revenue (FBR), PCP is working diligently to provide accreditation to NPOs,
thereby enhancing their credibility and boosting donor confidence. In this
quarter alone, PCP has granted certification approval to 160 organizations.
Beyond tax
benefits, PCP certification helps to bridge the information and credibility gap
between grant-makers and grant-recipients, builds NPOs' capacity to meet
international standards of Governance, Transparency & Accountability and last
but not the least, builds a credible pool of non-profits that are reliable and
effective development partners.

1. Aligning Policy
with Practice: Validation Workshop in Islamabad |
Under
its WINGS Project, PCP organized a validation workshop in Islamabad, bringing
together key stakeholders to review the draft policy paper. The session aimed to
gather insights and feedback on proposed recommendations to strengthen the legal

align the paper with the practical needs and realities of the sector. |
2. Capacity
Building on Regulatory Compliance for NPOs |
PCP
successfully conducted three training sessions on the federal and provincial
regulatory landscape for nonprofit organizations, two in Lahore and one in
Islamabad, engaging a total of 60 participants from across the sector.
These sessions brought together NPO representatives to deepen their
understanding of Pakistan's evolving regulatory framework. |

Impact Assessment Launched
for OGDCL’s National Talent Hunt Program |
An
inception meeting was held at PCP to formally launch the impact assessment of
OGDCL's National Talent Hunt Program, implemented at IBA campuses in Sukkur and
Karachi. This five-month evaluation, led by PCP, draws on the methodology
outlined in the Impact Assessment Handbook developed jointly by PCP and the
School of Education at LUMS. |
As
part of the process, PCP conducted a two-day Self Impact Assessment Training
workshop for representatives from OGDCL, IBA Sukkur, and IBA Karachi - equipping
them with essential tools to independently conduct impact evaluations in the
future. |
Expert Consultation Held
Under Doing Good Index 2026 Project |
As
the country partner for Pakistan in the Doing Good Index (DGI) 2026, an
initiative led by the Centre for Asian Philanthropy and Society (CAPS), PCP has
successfully completed the first phase of data collection from nonprofit
organizations across the country.
To support this effort, PCP convened an Expert Group Meeting featuring a
distinguished panel. The discussion focused on contextualizing Pakistan's
philanthropic and regulatory landscape. Key themes included regulatory
frameworks, registration processes, governance standards, and transparency and
accountability mechanisms. The panel also explored various funding avenues such
as domestic and foreign funding, government grants, and crowd-funding
platforms-offering valuable insights to inform the DGI 2026 analysis. |
